11/02/08 > Sensdata Limited, a new and innovative South Yorkshire based Electronic Engineering company has recently won a regional government grant to develop an energy monitoring system for electrical drive systems.

Headed by Dr Robert Brown, Sensdata are now developing the system with the aid of large blue chip companies based in South Yorkshire. The monitoring system, an innovative idea of Dr Brown's is aimed at a type of drive transmission systems which is most common in manufacturing industry. The efficiency of the transmission system can degenerate quickly and thus over time incur considerable financial penalties to the user. By using the monitoring system the need to address the transmission abnormality is quickly identified and relayed to the user. Typical annual savings for a 50KW motor are expected to be about £2K. Consequently, for locations with multiple units the savings could be considerable.
